Portland, OR 97225 (Cedar Hills)
The sibling social skills group is an inclusive group for children with special needs and their typically developing siblings. The group leader, an experienced Occupational Therapist, and trained student volunteers facilitate play between children with special needs and their typically developing siblings. Typically developing siblings are taught interaction strategies to enhance their play skills and children with special needs learn group participation and skills to promote social development.
Children with special needs do not need to have siblings to be considered for this group. Typically developing siblings must be over 30 months of age to attend.
